Caboose Village at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort features twelve Train Cars! These custom designed "cabooses" offer some of the most unique lodging anywhere in Utah! With several cars to choose from, and more being remodeled, each car has been beautifully refurbished and turned into comfortable lodging which overlooks the Sevier River.
Rio Grande
Stay in our Rio Grande Caboose at the base of The Big Rock Candy Mountain, right next to the Sevier River. Walk out the door of your Caboose onto a private spacious deck overlooking the beautiful river landscape.
This is a rare Caboose, and is one of only 25 Cabooses ever built like it. It was built by the Rio Grande Railroad in October of 1966, and ran from Denver, Colorado to Ogden, UT before retiring and finding its home here at Big Rock Candy Mountain.

California Zephyr
Our California Zephyr Passenger Train is truly a rare piece of history, built in 1941 it is the oldest train car at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort. It was in service as a coach car on the New Haven railroad which ran from New Haven Connecticut to New York City for many many years until it was sold to the Santa Fe Railroad, Amtrak, Heber Valley, and a private individual who used it as a poker parlor before it was traded to it's current home at The Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort.

Santa Fe
Climb board our Santa Fe Train Car! This Boxcar was built in the 1940’s and ran along the Rio Grande Railroad. This Train was used as a tool car for the Signal Department. The flooring in this boxcar is the original flooring and was careful treated to preserve it’s historic beauty and charm.

Reading
Take a ride on the Reading Railroad, if you pass Go collect $200 dollars! This fantastic steel caboose was built in the 1970’s, before the 1940’s all train cars were made out of wood. This Caboose actually ran along the Southern Pacific railway for several years, but features a fun Americana interior design.

Pennsylvania
Our Pennsylvania Train Car was built in the 1970's and ran along the Southern Pacific Railroad line for several years. In the 1960’s the Pennsylvania Railroad was the biggest railroad in the world before it merged with the New York Central and became even bigger. Now it no longer exists, CSX and NS own bits and pieces of it today. This Caboose was ran all over California, Oregon, and parts of Arizona before it was retired and then moved to The Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort.

Missouri Pacific
Climb aboard our Missouri Pacific Caboose! This train car was built in the 1970's, and ran along the Southern Pacific Railroad in California, Oregon and Arizona. The entire Missouri Pacific Line was referred to as the MP or the "Mop", and it is now a part of the Union Pacific.

Western Pacific
Our Western Pacific Boxcar was actually built by the Rio Grande Railroad in the 1940's during the war, and was used to haul freight. The Rio Grande built the Western Pacific railway and actually went broke doing it. The Western Pacific has the Feather River route which is one of the most beautiful Train Rides in the country. This Boxcar has been remodeled using a fun western theme that includes a bunk room with saloon doors.

Cotton Belt
Climb aboard the Cotton Belt Caboose and fall asleep to the sound of the river off the private deck. The design of this Caboose is different from others built by the railroad because this one has an arched ceiling in the middle. This Train Car was built in the 1970's and ran along the Southern Pacific Railroad line for several years, and is referred to as a Cotton Belt Caboose.

Southern Pacific
This Southern Pacific Caboose ran along the Southern Pacific line since it was built in the 1970's. it came out of Texas, and is a fun Green and Yellow color. This Train Car has a spacious private deck that overlooks the Sevier River.

Northern Pacific
This Northern Pacific Caboose actually ran along the Southern Pacific Railroad for years since it was built in the 1970's. The Northern Pacific Railroad runs from Wisconsin to Montana and occasionally into Washington. This Caboose has been completely remodeled into a quaint seaside retreat. Enjoy the private deck that overlooks the Sevier River.

Great Northern
Our Great Northern Boxcar ran along the Rio Grande Railroad for several years. The Great Northern was a very rugged railroad, that was built in mountainous country. It still runs in parts of Montana today. For years The Great Northern Railroad held the record for running the longest train, sometimes as long as a 450 car train. Our boxcar features queen bunk beds in one room and another queen bed in a separate bedroom, as well as a private deck overlooking the Sevier River.

Union Pacific
The Union Pacific Caboose was built in the 1970's and ran along the Southern Pacific Railroad for several years before it was retired. When it was sitting in the train yard it was set on fire in the 1990's. Lots of work was done to this Caboose to give it new life. This train car features a jacuzzi tub and separate shower, as well as a spacious private deck overlooking the Sevier River.

Burlington Northern
Sleeps 4 - The Burlington Northern caboose is our newest train car tiny home in caboose village. We've strived to keep as much original in this train car as possible, while still adding amenities like a shower, porcelain toilet, kitchen, TV, Beds, a/c and more.
This caboose features a queen size bed and 2 twin size beds in the cupola. Lots of fun for the family!
